*Only applies if you have already hired a different DJ, or plan to do so. Some DJs have all the right gear, but that does not mean they exercise musical judgement about the difference between a “good” song and a “dance” song. Good dance music is easy to dance to; it is visceral and naturally compels its listeners to dance. The “dancibility” of a song—whether slow dancing or more energetic dancing—depends on a number of variables, including tempo, the activeness of the bass instrument, and how obviously the beat is being subdivided in the recording. The dancing components of many wedding receptions have been underwhelming or even ruined because the DJ played too many (any is too many!) songs that were too fast or too slow to dance to, or were otherwise unsuitable for dancing. You don’t want your guests to remember your wedding as having had a mediocre reception; you want them to have a blast!

This option is like an insurance policy. If you select it, Brendan will review your DJ’s playlist (you must provide the playlist for him) and recommend additions to and—more importantly—deletions from the DJ’s playlist. Of course, at your discretion, guests may still request songs for the DJ to play. Alternatively, you may request a pre-approved playlist from Brendan; in either case, you would then submit your reviewed/pre-approved playlist to your DJ.
